Jean Moe, 72, Fargo, ND, passed away Tues, Oct 17, 2017 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.
Jean Arlone Metcalf was born on March 14th, 1945 in Fargo, ND. Jean is the daughter of Claire Metcalf Jr & Dorothy (Raymond) Murray Metcalf Schwartz.
Jean was born and raised in the Golden Ridge area of Fargo, ND. She was a survivor of the 1957 tornado that went thru the area. She married Ronald Moe. She was a welcome member of Ron’s family. They had one daughter, Carissa. She spent her last several years with Dale Matthys, who provided so much joy for her. They enjoyed sitting on the porch enjoying nature and sharing humorous banter.
Jean was always a great fan of music, dancing, camping, reading, cooking, cake decorating, crafting, playing cards with friends and sharing a good laugh. She greatly enjoyed traveling to see friends and family, especially her grandchildren who fondly remember the many adventures their grandma would take them on. She took great joy in remembering to send a birthday card, anniversary card or a card for any occasion she could think of (even just to say hi) to each and every friend and family member. The greatest joy in her life was her friends and family. She loved hearing of their escapades and seeing their pictures. Whenever Jean had the opportunity to spend time with someone she required a hug before you could leave and would even chase you down for one or more.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Carissa (Steven) Haugen; two granddaughters: Kamaya Weiland & Destiny (Dennis Hopper) Weiland; two step-grandsons; Jacob Ruediger & Justin Ruediger; her significant other, Dale Matthys; three brothers: William Metcalf, Gerald (Carol) Metcalf & Claire (Deb) Metcalf III; two step-brothers: Kevin Schwartz & Randall Schwartz; one aunt, Dorothy Wagner; one uncle, Lyle Lambert; many nieces, nephews and cousins, so many “adopted” family and previous husbands William Gregg and Ronald Moe.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents: Claire Jr Metcalf, Dorothy and Raymond Schwartz; an infant sister, Infant Girl Metcalf and her infant daughter, Baby Girl (Samantha Crystal) Gregg.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sat, Nov 4th, 2017 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. Interment will be at Casselton Cemetery at a later date. Condolences can be sent to The Family of Jean Moe; PO Box 5583; Fargo, ND 58105

I just saw that Jean had died. I am sorry for your loss. What a lovely lady!. Jean was a big fan of the foot care here at Olivet. We will miss her kind and caring words. Blessings be with you.
Your mom had a way of making up words as only she could. I remember being at your house, and she was wanting you to do something. I forgot what. But she wanted you to do it,”Immediesso”…her word for immediately. I still laugh when I think about it.
I used to work at Stop & Go on 13th Avenue by Burlington Coat Factory and I’m pretty sure Gene used to come in every so often early mornings cuz I worked overnight and we used to chat the only reason I noticed her obituary is cuz I worked in a Cancer Center recently so I look through the obituaries and I saw her picture and I was like oh my gosh I know her and I was instantly sad but I couldn’t put a time or how I knew her and I sat down and thought about it and I think about her pulling up in like at the time when I was only 23 a grandma vehicle getting gas I’m almost positive this is the same person and she would just talk to me about my life talk to me about things going on…get the paper and I’m pretty sure get a donut or so and say that she shouldn’t and at that time I needed it and I always wished that she was my grandma she was so sweet and so cute and as soon as I saw that picture just hit me she probably help me get to where I am now more than she would have ever realized and I know it sounds so crazy cuz it was just a customer at a gas station and I’m still not positive but I’m pretty positive I just don’t want to be over positive I just know that she was super sweet very informational and she always had time to talk to me
