Jean Stern

Jean Marian (Henning) Stern was born June 10, 1947 in Parkers Prairie, MN.  She died in Fargo, ND on February 24, 2013 after a battle with cancer.

Jean was the daughter of Elia and Joseph Henning of Miltona, MN.  She attended elementary school in Miltona and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1965.  She attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis where she majored in music and sang in the University choir.

She married Myron Stern in January 1985.  They have made their home in Fargo, ND for many years.

Jean had a gift of music and shared that gift with others.  During her high school years she served as church organist, pianist, and choral director.  She was a member of high school choir and a soloist for school productions, weddings, and funerals.  In her adult years, she continued to enjoy music as a hobby.  Her perfect pitch and ability to sit down at the piano and play virtually anything by ear was amazing!

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Elia and Joseph Henning and by her brother, Dennis Henning.

She is survived by her husband, Myron.  She is also survived by her brother’s wife, Debbie Henning of Topeka, KS and her two sons; sister Ann (John) Weiler of Yuba City, CA and their two sons; sister Carol (Don) Frisby of Cocoa, FL and her three daughters; as well as four beautiful great-nieces and a great-nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Rosewood on Broadway, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.  A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Rosewood on Broadway for the exceptional, personalized care they provided for Jean during her last days.
