Jeannette Evert

Jeannette C. Evert, age 90, died July 2, 2017 at Rosewood on Broadway surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1926 to Peter and Mary Anna (Dosch) Brochman in Stillwater, MN. Jen graduated from high school there when she was introduced to the love of her life, Harold (Tyne) Evert by his sister Carol (Bill) Anderson who was, and remained, a dear friend for life. Tyne and Jen were married in Stillwater on August 11, 1945. They settled in Fargo and built a life and beautiful family with love and faith. In 1951, Tyne started Tyne’s Decorating with the helpful support of Jen. She was an awesome stay-at-home mom, who made birthdays and holidays so special. Her friendship and good humor along with a great sense of style were just a few of her fine qualities . . . and wow, could she sing. Jen and Tyne were members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for over 50 years. They were especially involved in the early years of building the church itself. Jen participated in church circle and Guild and volunteered in the school and always at the annual church bazaar. She is survived by her son Dan (Bonnie) Evert, their children, Dan (Andrea), great-grandchildren, Rowan and Vivian; son, Randy (Cindy) Evert and sons, Avery and Alex; daughter, Terry (Jim) Link, their daughter, Jerica (Kevin) Malinowski; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Hanna; daughter, Sheryl (Arlen) Kurtti and their sons, Jason, Nathan and Matthew. Jen was preceded in death by her dear spouse, Tyne; parents, Pete and Mary Anna; sister, Margaret; brothers, Richard, William, and Laurence; and will be sorely missed by sister, Elizabeth and brothers, Joseph (JoRene) and Lois (Bob) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family is most grateful for the kindness, love, and support of all the staff at Rosewood on Broadway, especially the wonderful care on the second floor. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior. The family’s wish is that memorials be sent to Holy Spirit Church for Masses or Rosewood on Broadway, Attn: Prairie Rose.

  1. Jen was like a second Mom to me, especially after my Mom passed away. I still remember her working so hard to “match the plaid” on something I was trying to sew in High School. I was ready to give up, but she worked on it until it was perfect!!! She also taught me how to make “refrigerator towels”, and I still give them as gifts today. It was so much fun and so comfortable visiting my friend Terry’s home. Jen always showed kindness and always had some advise. She made me feel like I was one of the family with a hug and a treat waiting. Enjoy a good cup of coffee with Tyne, my Mom and Dad — I’m sure they were there to great you with a big hug and a “welcome home.”

  2. Sheryl and family. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear mother. She was a lovely, fun lady and I have many good memories of her when I would come to the house. Love and thoughts.

  3. Jerica and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. She sounds like an amazing woman who will be missed deeply. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope peace will enter your hearts soon.

  4. Hello Terry,
Teresa Witt left me a message to say that your mother had passed away. I was very sorry to hear of it, and hope you know that I am thinking of her and you and all the family.
