Jerome “Jerry” T. Gerberding, 61, Moorhead, MN passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Rosewood on Broadway surrounded by his family.

Jerry was born December 16, 1952 in St. Paul, MN to Elmer and Lorraine (Froehler) Gerberding. He grew up in Watertown, SD before moving to Fargo where he graduated from Shanley High School in 1971. He graduated from North Dakota State School of Science in 1975 with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology before enlisting in the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA and Seoul, Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1980.

On January 15, 1977 he married Monica Rabideaux at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. He went on to graduate from NDSU with a degree in Construction Management in 1986. He worked for various engineering firms and finished his career with Widseth Smith & Nolting in Alexandria, MN.

Jerry loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren, and being at the lakes. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and always liked working.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Monica, Moorhead, MN, children; Ryan (Amy Fredrickson), Fargo, ND, Nate, Alexandria, MN, Becky, Moorhead, MN, grandchildren; Marcus and Lexi, both of Fargo, ND, siblings; Judy Hoffman, Jeanne (Mick) Alm, Jim (Nancy), Joan (Dale) Cook, Jack (Patty) and Janette Silleck, father-in-law, Leo Rabideaux, Pelican Lake, MN and many nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in-laws and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lorraine Gerberding, sister, Janet Gerberding, mother-in-law, Frances “Pat” Rabideaux and brother-in-laws, Harold Hoffman and Leo Rabideaux II.
