Jerry Dale Klinger, 68, Fargo, ND passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. He was born on July 2, 1948 in Bismarck, ND to Alfred and Elsie (Fetzer) Klinger. He grew up in Riverdale, ND and graduated from Riverdale High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army where he served in Vietnam. In January of 1971, Jerry was honorably discharged and returned to North Dakota. He attended the Wahpeton State School of Science where he earned a Welding degree. On September 11, 1981 Jerry was united in marriage to Margery Tuchscherer in Fargo. The couple made their home in Fargo where they raised their daughter, Darcel. Jerry worked at Steiger Tractor for several years before being employed at North Dakota Department of Transportation, starting as a welder. In 2013, he retired as an equipment operator after 29 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marge; daughter, Darcy Klinger; brother, James Klinger; and sister, Mary Klinger; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

  2. Marge, I just learned of Jerry’s passing this morning. It broke my heart. Jerry was a wonderful, one of a kind man. He was loved and will be missed by many. I lost my partner, Wayne, after 20 years together, from brain cancer, six years ago, so I understand your pain. Stay strong (easy for me to say right now-hard for you to understand). Melanie

Although I did not know your loved one personally, I hope knowing that they are in our loving heavenly Father’s memory will bring your family comfort during this difficult time.   9. I am deeply saddened by this news. Jerry was a great friend of mine in our earlier days, the best man at my wedding & even though these later years we did not see each other very often, i often thought of Jerry & wondered how he was doing. I tried to watch on Facebook to keep up with what he was doing, but had no idea of the issues that resulted in this. Deb & my hopes & prayers go out to Marge, Darci & the rest of the family in this time of great sorrow. May Jerry rest in peace & look over all of us.

  10. So sorry for you loss. I had the privilege of working with Jerry at the NDDOT and he will be missed. I hope you can find some comfort through your grieving as you remember all your fond memories with him.

  12. Marge, We’re so sorry to hear about Jerry. We have the best memories of those guys playing softball! They knew how to “play”! And we wives enjoyed watching them! Were did the last 30 years go? You and Darcel are in our thoughts and prayers. Hold on to the memories and each other.

  18. Hi, deepest sympathies to the family. Jerry used to work with Larry Lien (EJ’s dad) at NDDOT. I remember he gave me a ride on his motorcycle once many years ago. He’s a great man. Sorry for your loss.
