Jill Nornes

Jill Nornes, 94, Fargo, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Sanford Health Palliative Care.

Jill was born December 6, 1919 in Wild Rice, ND to Gustave and Jeanne (Jacob) Denis.  She grew up and attended school in Wild Rice.  She then moved to Fargo and worked for Manchester Biscuit Company, Post and Kmart.  Jill married Bernie Nornes on August 9, 1965 and they made their residence in Fargo.  Jill and Bernie moved to Bethany Assisted Living in 2006 where Jill was still currently a resident.

Jill enjoyed the many trips she took with Bernie exploring the US, Canada and Mexico, she also liked to sew, garden, bake, shop and go to rummage sales. Jill loved company and anyone who stopped by never left hungry, you always had to sit down and have a “little something” and it always included dessert.   Jill was an animal lover and spoiled the dogs at Bethany with the special treats she carried in her walker.

Jill was preceded in death by her husband Bernie, her parents and eleven brothers and sisters. 

She is survived by four step-daughters, eight step-grandchidlren and several nieces and nephews.
