Joan Faeth, 87, Fargo, ND passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo. She was born on June 15, 1930 in Aberdeen, SD to Clement and Helen (Mertes) Schaeffer. She graduated from Central High School and attended Northern State in Aberdeen. On September 22, 1949 Joan was united in marriage to Robert Faeth. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen until 1964 when they moved to Fargo. In 1970, Joan began her employment at Dakota Clinic and worked in the business office until her retirement in 1990. In the following years, Joan worked as a lunchroom and playground supervisor at Clara Barton Elementary, office personnel for American Family, volunteer at Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead for Senior Lunch Program and gift shop. Joan was a member of Nativity parish since 1964, and active in the church choir for 20 years. She loved going to the lake, fishing, music, reading, sports, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) Leedahl, Nancy (Mike) Knutson, Kathryn Faeth, Steven (Cindy) Faeth, Jacqueline (Tony) Nikolas; sister, Carol (Harlow) Herman; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert. There will be a memorial Mass at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

Sometimes we may feel like we are alone, however in the Bible Jehovah promises he “is close to the broken hearted, he saves those that are crushed in spirit”. Yes, God is with you all during this time reach out to him in prayer and he will bring comfort to your hearts.
