Rev. Joseph A. LaFortune, 87, Fargo, died Saturday October 29, 2016 at Villa Maria, Fargo.
Joseph was born April 21, 1929 in Chicago, IL. He grew up and attended high school in Green Bay, WI, and attended the University of WI Green Bay. Joseph and Ann Louise Giesler were united in marriage June 7, 1955, in Green Bay East Moravian Church. Joseph served in the Coast Guard for 3 years. Joseph attended Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for 2 years and then Moravian Seminary in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Joseph served parishes in Bethel, AK, Edmonton, Alberta and Calgary, Alberta Canada, Daggett, MI, Northfield, MN, where he served 3 parishes. In 1987 he moved to Leonard, ND where he served Bethel Moravian and Goshen Moravian churches for 8 years, retiring in 1995 when he moved to Fargo.
Joseph is survived by his wife Ann; sons, Richard, Minneapolis, Guy, Fargo; daughter, Amy (Lowell) Hewitt, Fargo, 2 grandchildren, Cody, Fargo; Bailey, Milwaukee, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles.

I loved my Uncle Joe very much, and will miss him a lot! I have lots of wonderful memories of him! His laughter will always be in my heart! I’m glad that we all be together again in Heaven one day! My love, prayers and thoughts, are with all of you during this very sad time!!!
