Joy Olson, 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 26, 2020 surrounded by her family at her home. Joy Marie Olson was born May 14, 1954 to Lawrence and Eloise (Appel) Srnsky. She grew up on a small farm near Goodridge, MN. She attended and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1972. That same year she was united in marriage to Norman Olson on July 1, 1972. In 1976 she moved with her husband from Oklee, MN to Lamoure, ND where she and her husband Norman made their home for 30 years. During that time, she worked at St. Rose Care Center for 29 years. In 2006 she moved to Harwood, ND with her husband Norman. She began working at Sanford Healthcare until her retirement on April 30, 2019. Joy enjoyed going on cruises, lake time at their lake home and the past 2 years in Mesa, AZ during the winter months. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and riding bike with her children. She was also actively involved in the Cursillo movement. Joy is survived by her husband, Norman; children , Allan (Debbie) Olson, Carrington, ND, Wendy (Chad) Westrick, Harwood, ND, and Dustin (Melissa) Olson, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Brittany, Breean, Alicia, Kelsey, Hunter, and Hailey; her 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry (Vivian) Srnsky, Goodridge, MN, Margie Coan, Goodridge, MN, Angie Sanders, Herman, MN, Nancy Asselin, Warroad, MN, Judy (Ron) Rustan, Oklee, MN, Paul Srnsky, Goodridge, MN, and Betty ( Dave) Peterson, Thief River, MN. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Eloise Srnsky; and her brother, Jerry.

  2. It truly was a pleasure working with Joy at Sanford .After I quit at Sanford we still remained friends and would talk once in awhile but mostly texted each other.   15. my grandpa married a very specile lady and i’m lucky she was my grandma i think about her every night thinking did she really die she fought strong but it was to much and i cry every day she was the best loved forever missed forever god bless you grandma i love you and i will watch over you for ever love hailey

  16. i love and miss her so much its my fault that she died i was sick a little before christmas and i made her cancer worst after a couple weeks i went to visit here and i drew pictures for her and held her hand after i left my grandma had passed away that morning i miss her she was my good friend
