Karen Knight

November 10, 1976 - April 20, 2018

Karen Knight, 41, of Fargo, ND passed away on April 20, 2018 at home. Karen was born on November 10, 1976 in Fargo to Deloris and Lloyd Knight. She graduated from high school at Central Cass in 1995, and from Rasmussen College with an Associates’ Degree in Accounting.

Her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising her daughter Jayden, who is currently attending school at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Karen’s favorite thing to do was go on road trips with Jayden. They visited Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Colorado, South Dakota, and took many other small trips. She loved to go out to eat, especially for sushi. Karen was always dressed better than anyone else and was rarely seen without her heels on. Karen enjoyed babysitting, hiking, yoga, biking, going to the lake, music concerts, Found Footage Festival, the Warrior Dash and the Color Run.

Karen was survived by her daughter Jayden Peterson, Fargo, parents Lloyd and Deloris, Fargo, brother David Knight (Sharla Richards), Amenia, sister Kathy Knight (Josh Carpenter), Minneapolis, niece Kensey Knight and nephew Jeremy Knight, close friends Ryan Kringlie, Kileigh Maki, Whitney Rheault, Danielle Strom, Veronica Webb, Sarah Wilcox, and dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and co-workers and friends. She was especially close to long-time friends from Grandma’s Saloon and Swanson Health. She also worked at Adelman’s Concrete and Excavation and recently started at Archway.

The funeral is Friday, April 27, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home, 123 10th St. S, Fargo. Visitation will begin at 12:00 with a service at 1:00. Officiant is Pastor Ray Baker.

A prayer service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, 909 19th Ave N, Fargo on Thursday, April 26, 2018, 7:00 pm. Please join us to share memories, stories and photos.

Karen’s wish was to be cremated, and a headstone will be placed at Sunset Memorial Gardens near her grandparents Percy and Lydia Knight.

Years ago our previous employer gave me an opportunity I couldn’t pass up; my first job in the FM area. Looking back on that day 6 years ago I would never have guessed Karen’s knowledge, wit and personality would lay the foundation for several years of success within the business. I made sure to share my appreciation with her face to face over the years whenever we crossed paths.

One thing she always said was that a lot of success I had achieved was because of myself. It seems silly but without that foundation Karen created to reach higher, to do well and care about my jobs impact, I may not be where I am today. I’ll miss you, Karen. You cared and so did I.

Karen was my very best friend in grade school at Central Cass, & we continued our friendship for a year or more as penpals after I moved away to South Dakota at 8 years old. I had not seen her since we were kids, but seeing her picture brought back so many WONDERFUL memories. What a beautiful girl who will always remain alive in my heart. Knight family – I pray that God gives you strength & peace in knowing that Karen is now in His hands.
