Obituary

Kathy Sue (Johnson) Flieth, age 59, passed away February 9, 2016. Kathy was born December 6, 1956, in Salem, Oregon, to Arvid and Margie (Kjos) Johnson. She spent her early years living in Oregon and California before moving to Moorhead, MN, with her family.

Kathy married the love of her life, Thomas Flieth, Jr., June 23, 1973. The two of them made their home, along with son, Tony, in Fargo, later moving to their current home in West Fargo.

Kathy’s warm and generous spirit, along with her smile could light up any room she was in. She adored and spoiled her grandchildren to no end!  There was nothing she would not do to bring joy to those she loved the most. She enjoyed spending time crafting; making many homemade cards, jewelry and scrapbooks.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Thomas Flieth, Jr.; her son, Tony (Lynn) Flieth of Wahpeton; her brother James (Cindy) Johnson of Corcoran, MN; her sister Sheryl Dunn of Shakopee; four grandsons- Keveen, Dustin, Gavin, and Levi; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; her mother-in-law, Inez Flieth of Fargo, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving step-father, Arnold Puetz.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 7 PM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo

My heart goes out to those that was close to Mrs. Flieth. My mother was born one month before her. Unfortunately she only lived 57 years in this world. I am sorry for your tremendous loss even though I don’t know anyone related to Mrs. Flieth. In this time of grief, I would like to share some words to soothe the heart, some words of condolences from our own God. In his good book the bible Psalms 34:18 says “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” This beautiful verse says that God is close to anyone that is suffering for the loss of Mrs. Flieth. He promises that he will not let anyone crumble in this time of need. So reach out to God by praying to him. If anyone has any questions about this, please feel free in responding back to symmeskh@gmail.com

I am very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know your loved one personally, I hope knowing that they are in our loving heavenly Father’s memory will bring your family comfort during this difficult time. Very soon now we can look forward to God’s promise at a Revelation 21:4: “… Death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore, the former thing gave passed away.”

Tommy and family, Sending our sympathy for your loss. Glenn and I started doing some reminesing over the Moorhead Medical days of employment. Remembering the Christmas parties and when you and Kathy, and Glenn and I went to the Highway Host on a New Years Eve, an got caught in a food fight. Kathy’s smile was infectious and she could pass it on. We moved out of Fargo, six years ago, and have been out of touch. We enjoyed Kathy’s friendship and she will be missed. Tom, Tony and family: so sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. Can’t help thinking of the good old days at the South Moorhead Medical Group. Kathy would be sitting at the end of the hall in a tiny “closet” typing away on the physicians dictations. Our little group always had a great time together at the Christmas parties. Our sympathy to you, Tom and Tony and to your family. Kathy will be missed by so many.

    Tom, Tony & Family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I too remember the days working at the medical office and Kathy, bless her heart, typing away on a typewriter, no less, in a tiny, tiny “closet” as the sole transcriptionist for a group of doctors. Her smile was so infectious and her love of life showed from within. May God Bless you all at this time of sorrow.
