Kay Schuster, 57, 4790 10th Avenue SW, Fargo, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, in Innovis Health, Fargo.
Kay Kallas was born November 13, 1946, in Aberdeen, SD, to Mae and Leo Kallas. She grew up on a farm near Leola, SD, where she attended grade school. The family then moved to Mason City, IA. She attended school at Holy Family School and Newman High School until 1964. She attended Central High in Aberdeen, and graduated in 1965. She graduated from St. Mary?s Nursing School in Peirre, SD. She worked as a nurse at St. Ansgars in Moorhead before her marriage to Rod Schuster on December 19, 1970 in Moorhead. She began working at Bethany Homes in 1987 as a home health aid, and was there until her illness in October 2002.
She is survived by her parents, Mae and Leo Kallas, Aberdeen, SD; son, Matthew P., Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Jennifer R., Fargo; two sisters, Karen (Jim) Steidl, Bowbells, ND, and Kathy (Jim) Thomson, St. Louis, MO; three brothers, Lee (Trish) Kallas, Boco Raton, FL, Lenn (Gayle) Kallas, Watertown, SD, and Lance (Lynn) Kallas, Aberdeen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rod, in 1998.
Kay loved traveling to visit family. She was also a talented greeting card stamper.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will also be held in the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
