Kenneth James Moser, 64, Fargo passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo.
Kenneth was born August 23, 1949 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Ernest and Helen (Lorenz) Moser. He grew up in Medina, ND. He worked at his dads barber shop doing general maintenance. He left Medina at an early age, moving to Grand Forks before later moving to Fargo where he worked various jobs including being a Chef at Country Kitchen.
Kenneth worked hard at getting his GED, finally received it in 1987. In 1989, he began his 25 year career of working in the human services field at the Myrt Armstrong Recovery Center. He dedicated himself to advocating against the stigma and discrimination against persons with mental illness. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. He was a devoted father and devoted brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Hope (Andy) Heller, Jamestown, ND; son, Joshua James Moser-Hagen, Fargo, ND, and beloved dog, Sarah; sisters, Jean Moser, Fargo, ND, Linda Moser-Eicholtz, Bismarck, ND, Sherry (Clifford) Meadows, Medina, ND and sister-in-law, Connie Moser, Medina, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Moser.

I remember him from the late 90’s when I first met him at the old building for those with disabilities.
He was humorous, passionate, and had a go get’em outlook on life, and I’m certain many more great qualities.
I pray his soul is with God our heavenly father.
Ken, may you rest in Peace, and live a wonderous life in heaven where we will meet you again one day.

I’m praying that comfort will surround Ken’s sisters and especially his daughter during these moments, and days. The picture chosen shows him as a man who experienced both joy and love. I appreciate the fact that he dedicated himself toward public understanding of mental illness. The world lost a sunbeam of understanding. May God comfort and strengthen the entire family.

Kenny was a dedicated staff and volunteer for Mental Health America of ND
(MHAND) and the Myrt Armstong Recovery Center (MARC) for over 25 years. He was a valued employee and will be missed. I remember how he and Lynnn Gifford held the MARC together when the Director was ill for several weeks. They were awesome. He was always willing to tell his story of his own journey into recovery whenever asked. Even in front of the Mari Gras crowd. He bought a sport coat and tie and looked great. He was an amazing and lovely person.

Kenny was a good friend to me and I will miss him very much. When I first met Ken I didn’t know what to think with his gruff nature and his load voice. It did not take long to realize that he was a kind and friendly person with a load voice. I loved teasing Kenny He would take teasing from me that nobody else could get by with. Whenever you went to Kenny’s he would always made you feel special. I know that he was so proud of Hope and Andy and how much he truly loved them. I will greatly miss my friend!
My thoughts and prayers are for Hope, Ken’s daughter and my wife for the loss of her dad. This came as such a shock and seeing this guestbook….I cant believe I am seeing it. Hope and Ken were close and closer then most most father/daughters because of the trials they went through earlier in life. They both faced things most of us will never go through and while they may have often felt like there was no hope, they persevered and kept on keeping on. Ken came a long way in life and grew as a person since I first met him in 1992 and Hope as well. We all had many good and funny times in the past 21 years. The thing I always admired about Ken was his determination to be nobody but himself. He was unique and I felt true to himself. I also knew Ken as being very generous. He was always the life of the party. It breaks my heart that he has passed and that Hope wont have her dad around anymore. I know she is devestated. That being said, Hope can rejoice in the fact that her dad lived his life his way and to the fullest, overcame many hard times and odds in his life and always put her first even after we married and moved to Jamestown. I always enjoyed our time together and we had many good laughs over the years that were sometimes very much needed even during our competition over brief cases and who had the nicest and best! LOL I will miss Ken very much and I thank him for everything he did for Hope and I since 1992. My God bless Ken, and may He comfort Hope during this difficult time. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Ken was a great man. He gave everything for his daughter Hope. He made the best life for Hope that he could. He will be deeply missed.

My dear brother…I can’t find the words to describe how I feel. I was looking forward to our family “Christmas in October”. I’m sad to say you will not be there in person, but you will be in spirit. I personally thank you for your hard work and willing spirit to help those in need you left a great legacy for all of us.
