Kenneth Paul Larsen Loved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Son And Honored Businessman The Memorial Service for Kenneth Paul Larsen, of Fargo, ND, will be held 3 PM Monday, March 20, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Fargo. There will be a prayer service held 7 PM Sunday at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo. Kenneth passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Bethany Homes in Fargo at the age of 81. Kenneth was born on September 29, 1924 to Esther and Ervin Hans Larsen near Egeland, North Dakota. He lived at the Barks Farm until the age of 12 when they moved to their farm at Maza, ND. Kenneth graduated from Cando High School in 1943 and was united in marriage to Florence Patricia Miller in May of 1944 in Seattle, WA, by Chaplin Murphy. He had joined the Navy and was stationed in Seattle prior to being sent to the Aleutian Islands off of Alaska for 26 months. As Ken had always been a photographer, he took photos of fellow Navy men so they could send to their loved ones in the states. Returning to Minneapolis, Ken was discharged from the Navy in 1946. He worked for Ackerman and Spilane (real estate), a tool and die company, and Olson?s Red & White. He returned to Devils Lake and started 10 years in the grocery business, associated with National Tea Company, and became a partner in Leeds Red Owl, and purchased the Cando Red Owl. He changed careers in 1963 when he became the Chamber of Commerce Executive in Devils Lake, ND, Watertown, SD and Casper, WY. He was Executive of the Fargo Chamber of Commerce for 11 years. He retired for a short time and traveled with Florence. He became Executive Manager for the Faribault, MN and the Sturgis, SD Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of Mountain States Association, former institute class advisor for the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organizational Management & Investment in Excellence, former member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and advisor for SCORE in Fargo. Ken is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Florence, of 61 years; and four surviving children and their families - Ken Jr. (Lynn) Larsen of Pierre, SD; Karon (Richard) Schaub of Marina del Rey, CA; Mark (Betty) Larsen of Grand Forks, ND; Dean Larsen of Fargo. Greeting him in heaven are his beloved son, Ronald; his parents, Esther and Ervin; and granddaughter, Dara Lynn. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Natalie (Adam) Frazin and Sarah, of Poolesville, MD; Jody (Sean) Jordet and Elliana of Moorhead, MN; Kristi (Ryan) Brewer and Aaron of Murfreesboro, TN; Brian (Lisa) Larsen and Jonathan of Vero Beach, FL; Anna Larsen of Miles City, MT; sisters-in-law: Ethel Miller Boehmer of Grand Forks; and Eunice Miller Anfinson of Cottage Grove, MN; cousins: Lois (Gale) Brehm of Plover, WI; Roger (Joanne) Copeland of Starkweather, ND; Larry Bolt of Oak Hills, CA, Carol (Kirk) Cowan of Grandview, WA; Eugene Larsen of Florida, and their families.
