  1. Kim/Mark/Thad – we’re truly sorry to learn of Uncle Ken’s passing and extend our sincerest condolences. Just imagine him and Aunt Adrea’s reunion. He was blessed to have three wonderful children and the extended addition of grand children and great grand children. Just know we’re sending our love your way.

  2. My condolences to you three former students and neighbors. Your dad was a wonderful “parent” and NEIGHBOR! I have two warm spots in my heart for both of your parents!

  3. To Ken’s family, I met Ken at the Veteran’s Home. My mother in law is a resident and each time we visited, I talked with Ken. I am a ND native, but have lived in KS for 33 years. I worked at KU for over 20 years, and when I saw Ken wearing a KU cap last winter, I asked him about KU and he told me he played football there.

One day he took me to his room to show me what he had. He asked me where his wife had gone and wanted me to take him outside. I knew I couldn’t do that, so we just visited. It was a pleasure to get to know him, even if only for a short time.

My condolences to put to all of his family. Bette Luther. Ottawa KS

  4. I have many great memories of visiting with Ken at the Leonard golf course and in town at events. He was a soft spoken very intelligent man, who taught all of you kids well and led by examples of faith and good works.

  5. Dear Kim, Mark and Thad,

All of our prayers and love go to you during this time.

My fondest memories of Uncle Ken include hunting pheasants and quail in Kansas and his very kind way of talking with you. The only time I ever, ever shot three quail at one time, Uncle Ken was there and he helped me find all three since I didn’t have a clue as to where the first two were at.

He was always making nice gifts out of his wood working shop and I will treasure the ones that I have.

I really enjoyed the few times I made it to North Dakota for the family reunions, and I especially enjoyed Uncle Ken’s dry humor. Definitely a man of many talents and religious convictions.

I am sorry I cannot make it there to be with you at this time.

    All our thoughts and prayers,

  6. Kim, Mark and Thad, We are so sorry that we are unable to be there to help you celebrate your Father’s life. We have memories of him to numerous to mention here. However, Roy remembers the first time he met your Dad was when he was inspecting bees for the state of Kansas. He was in Concordia and stopped to meet Adrea’s mother and Roy. Later he became the first Sperry brother to marry two of his three sisters. Roy remembers the family dinners at the home in Concordia. Also, after great food the guys would go hunting at a farm west of Concordia. Roy especially enjoyed your Dad’s many stories about K.U. football etc. I remember the first time I met Ken. Roy brought me home to Concordia for a holiday dinner and for me to meet the family. As we stopped the car in the yard who should come around the house shoulder to shoulder but two Sperry brothers to welcome me. At first I didn’t know what to think but soon learned they were more bark than bite. We are so glad to be a part of your family and want to remain that way.

    Love you all,

    Uncle Roy and Aunt Elizabeth

  7. Kim, Mark and Thad,
