Guestbook

  1. Janesville WII first met Kirk at a vacation Bible Camp on some lake in the early 1960’s. He was a very gregarious and upbeat person.

We reconnected at Moorhead State College in 1968. He was still the same good person then. Our Northwest Minnesota
group of guys hung out together and had many memorable and happy times. We took sophomoric behavior to new levels.

When I go home to visit my folks in Warren, MN
we usually go to our hunting cabin south of Roseau. We pass by Kirk’s boyhood home in Middle River. I often think of him most likely playing baseball on the field adjacent to their property. He was probably much better at basketball with his height.

He was a great person and a joy to be around. My condolensces to his family and friends.

    Regards,

    John Melgard

  2. My sympathy to Kirks family. And especially to his brother Larry.

Kirk was a member of the TKE fraternity
I was involved with at MSUM.

we both were in the insurance business in Fargo.

The last time I saw him was in the periodical reading area at the Fargo Public Library.

  3. Moorhead MN
I always told Kirk, I never had a best friend, but I had found mine in him. I will miss my one, true best friend to talk with. We did everything together. I will dearly miss you. Remember, my nightly hug and kiss.

  4. Nortonville ND
    Rose, Mick and Family

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Kirk was a wonderful person and will be missed by many. May God’s strength be with you.

  5. Farmington Hills MII was blessed to at one time have called Kirk my brother in law, and he was a brother to me in every way. His kindness and sweetness were unsurpassed. And he had the greatest sense of humor. One time when he fell asleep in my living room, I painted his toenails a pale gray, and he didn’t notice for about a week. But when he did, he knew precisely who the culprit was. Rose, I never got to meet you, but I know from my brief contacts with Kirk that he was happy and in love. My prayers are with the entire family. Please know that I grieve along with you, and celebrate his beautiful life with you as well.

  6. Detroit Lakes MN
    Rick & Family,
Sorry to hear about Kirk. Kind words and time help some, but the memories will keep him close to your heart forever. Thinking of you friend,

    Bernie

  7. West Fargo ND
I am saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. Kirk interviewed me for my position at Nodak Mutual back in 2001. From the moment I met Kirk, I could see he was an outgoing, friendly, and caring person. Kirk was a joy to work with and always had a smile on his face. When everyone was stressed over storm season or workloads he was always there to tell us a joke and lighten the mood. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those of us who knew and worked with him. Rose, you are in my daily prayers and if there is anything I can ever do please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  8. Fargo ND
I wanted to extend my sympathy to Kirk’s family. I worked with Kirk at Nodak Mutual many years ago. Kirk always had a friendly smile and something nice to say. My prayers go out to Rose and family.

  9. Dear Rose:
On behalf of my wife Sandy and I please accept our heartfelt condolences. May the Lord grant you strength and peace.

  10. Fargo Kirk was the nicest guy you could find. When I first started working at Nodak, I had to fill work as receptionist in the claims area one Friday and did not have a clue what I was supposed to do. Kirk was always there to help me out. He even brought me back some cookies after he went home for lunch. Thank you Rose, they were wonderful cookies. Kirk always had a smile for everyone. We visited one day for break about lefsa. He really missed homemade lefsa. Us Norweigens need to stick together. Lefsa forever!
    Kirk will be missed.

  11. Overland Park KansasJoey and I extend our condolences to Kirk’s family. We were saddened to hear that Kirk had passed away.

  12. Vergas MN
    Dear Rose,
I was so sorry to learn of Kirk’s death. He was such a kind and friendly man. I can still see him ambling across the yard to visit a bit. He had such a wonderful smile and laugh! We are blessed that our paths crossed and to have known him. Please wrap yourself in wonderful memories.

  13. Fargo My heart felt sympathy goes out to Rose and family on the loss of Kirk. I worked at Nodak Mutual/Farm Bureau in the early 80’s – Kirk was one of my favorite co-workers. I hope the good memories of Kirk help to get you through this difficult time. Sherri
