LaVern G. Christianson, 72, Fargo, died Monday, November 22, 2004, in Bethany Homes after battling cancer for the past year.
LaVern was born January 15, 1932, in Rutland, ND, to Melvin and Sadie Christianson. They moved to Fargo, then to Britton, SD. After high school he entered the Air Force where he served as a radio repairman from 1951-1955. He started with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1956 as a lineman in Wishek, ND, and held various positions in Dickinson, Bismarck, Oakes, and Fargo. He married Marian Marx in Dickinson, ND, on June 6, 1959. They moved to Fargo in 1960. He retired in 1986. After his ?official? retirement, he worked at Park Co Realtors, Super 8 Motel and Pella Windows. He enjoyed many days a week at Ponderosa Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Marian; two sons, Paul (Deborah) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Greg (Sandy) of Fargo; two daughters, Lori (John) Miller of Yuba City, CA, and Anne (Kevin) Gustafson of Ham Lake, MN; five grandchildren, Lisa who lived with her grandparents for three years, and Jon, Amber, Melisa and Erik; two step grandchildren, Tonya and Heather; and five step great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Caroline) of Britton, SD; and two sisters, Lila (Clarence) Moore of Normal, IL, and Gloria (Bruce) Thompson of St. Cloud, MN.
LaVern was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, and his mother, Sadie.
Visitation: Friday, November 26, 2004, from 1-3 p.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Funeral: Friday, November 26, 2004, at 3 p.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo.
