Lee Skallerud

Lee ?Rooster? Skallerud, 63, Fargo, ND died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND. Lee was born to Milton & Helen (Hauck) Skallerud April 18, 1945 in Madison, MN. He grew up and graduated from Madison High School in 1963. While attending Moorhead State, Lee was drafted into the U. S. Army and served from 1969 to 1970. After being honorably discharged he returned to college an earned a Bachelor?s in Education in 1971 Lee married Sandra Miller November 25, 1967 in Madison. Lee began his teaching career in1971 at Atkison Elementary School in Barnesville, MN, where he taught 6th grade. The couple made their home in Barnesville, MN until 1981, when they moved to Fargo, ND. He retired in 2002. Lee enjoyed golfing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Lee is survived by his wife, Sandra, his daughter Lisa (Corey) Hagler, Cando, ND and 3 grandchildren and brothers Dean (Jan) Skallerud, Buffalo, MN and Dale (Mary) Skallerud, Hawley, MN. Lee is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25th in the Boulger Funeral Home. Visitation: One hour before the service.
