Leigh Allen (PeeWee) Scott, age 78, 1528 34th Street South, Fargo, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital. He was born December 21, 1926, in Langdon, ND, to Louise Anderson Scott and George Mueller Scott. He lived in Medina, ND, and Harwood, ND, where he first attended school. When the family moved to Fargo, he attended Jefferson Elementary, Agassiz Junior High and Fargo Central High School, graduating in 1944. He was co-manager of the basketball team, along with Mark Andrews, the year that Fargo Central won the state title. After serving in the Navy, he attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, for one year. He worked for Smith Inc. from 1948-1950. On August 4, 1951, he married Frances Sweeney in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived most of their married life in Fargo with a short time in Iowa City, IA, when Leigh was with Great Lakes Pipeline. He worked at Great Lakes Pipeline, now called William Bros. Pipeline from 1950-1961. He then went to work at the U.S. Post Office in Fargo from 1961 to October 1986, when he retired. Leigh umpired Fast Pitch Softball from 1951-1961. He loved sports, especially softball. Leigh was a member of the American Legion, 40 and 8 in Fargo, and the Elks Lodge in Mesa, AZ, where he and his wife spent 17 winters. He is survived by his wife, Frances; two children, Steven (Susan) Scott and Shannon Charpentier; five grandchildren, Sam (Stephanie), Jessica, Coleman, and Jacob Scott, and Matthew Charpentier; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Maxwell Scott, all of Fargo.
