Lester passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 75.

Lester was born on August 20, 1930 in Colgate, ND to the late Olaf and Mina Satrom. He attended Colgate Public School and graduated in 1948. Lester also attended North Dakota State University for a short time before going home to work on the family farm near Colgate. Lester was drafted and served in the Korean War from 1951 ? 1953. On October 18, 1958 he was married to Clarice R. Traynor at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.

Lester farmed near Grandin from 1958 ? 2004. Farming was his passion, which he passed on to his boys. He and Clarice had four children together. Lester was an active member in the Cass County Farm Bureau for years, serving as president for a time. He also served on the Hunter Grain board, Grandin, Co-op board, and was a faithful member of Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, serving as a deacon for several years.

Lester is survived by his wife Clarice, his two sons, Tim and Todd Satrom, both of Grandin; his two daughters and their husbands, Tammy (Ryan) Dulas, Cottonwood, MN, and Tricia (Pat) Dew, Flowery Branch, GA; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister, Eldice Tysdal, Arthur, ND; three brothers, Charles, Hilbert, and Gordon Satrom all of Page, ND. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Saunders, Margaret Ruddy; and six brothers, Harold, Ole, Palmer, Marlyn, Edward, and Roy Satrom.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or to Challenged Child and Friends ? a non-profit special needs school where Tricia is employed.

VISITATION: 2-8 PM Friday at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro ? and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Saturday

PRAYER SERVICE: 8 PM Friday in the funeral home

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10 AM Saturday at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro

BURIAL: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro
