Lileas P. Thoreson, age 85, Hillsboro, ND, died Monday, February 28, 2005, in the Hillsboro Community Nursing Home.
Lileas Kjos was born the daughter of Edwin and Nina (Boyson) Kjos on May 2, 1919. She graduated from Mayville High School in 1937. She also attended Mayville State Teachers College. She later worked for Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis, MN.
On April 3, 1943, she married Orville Thoreson in Minneapolis. They lived in Waco, TX, where her husband was stationed at Camp Hood, TX. Later she returned to Mayville, ND, until her husband returned from the service. In 1946, Lileas and Orville moved to Hillsboro. In 1986, her husband retired from the automobile and farm implement business.
Lileas was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, where she was involved in many church activities. She was also active with the Order of the Eastern Star.
Lileas was a very kind, generous, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her two grandsons.
She is survived by her husband, Orville of Hillsboro; one son, Guy (Pat) of Moorhead, MN; and two grandsons, Erik (Jessica) of Minneapolis, and Matthew of Glendale, CA.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 2, 2005, from 5-7 p.m. in Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, and Thursday one hour prior to services in the church.
Funeral Service: Thursday, March 3, 2005, at 2 p.m. in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Hillsboro.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
