Lillian ?Bonnie? Wadnizak, age 73 of Fargo, died Friday, October 29, 2004 in Meritcare Hospital, Fargo. Lillian Mary Wadnizak was born to John and Mary (Furtak) Wadnizak on May 18, 1931 in Lehigh, ND. The family moved to Fargo in 1944 and Lillian attended Sacred Heart Academy and the MSUM High School from which she graduated in 1949. She enlisted in the Army in 1949 and was stationed at Camp Lee before being stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. Upon leaving the Army in 1955, she went to work for the Forum where she worked until beginning work at North Dakota State Film Library as film librarian. She retired from NDSU in 1995. Lillian served in the North Dakota Army National Guard for 34 years and was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was inducted into the North Dakota Softball Hall of Fame in 1971 and was the first woman Commissioner for the Women?s Softball Division of the North Dakota Softball Association, serving from 1958-1965. She was also a 3rd degree Lay Order of Carmelites and was named in ?Who?s Who in North Dakota? in 1980. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Frank, Joseph and John. She is survived by her brother, Harry (Donna) Wadnizak of Fargo; sisters, Ann Dockter of West Fargo, Frances Rehder of Ralston, NE and Mary Wadnizak of Fargo; many nieces and nephews and her care giver and special friend, Nancy Narum. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 2 at 2:00 pm at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral in the church and also on Monday from 5-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
