Lois J. Lockhart, 74, Twin Valley, MN. Resident of Twin Valley Nursing Home died on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
She passed away peacefully after living with diabetes for over 50 years and most recently Alzheimer’s disease.
Lois Hedin was born on February 26, 1935 in Ada, MN to Leona (Bjorem) and Oscar Hedin. She grew up in Twin Valley, graduating from Twin Valley High School. After graduation she moved to Fargo and worked several years as a secretary at Pioneer Mutual Life.
On September 26, 1959 she married James T. Lockhart, of Fargo, in Twin Valley at Zion Lutheran Church. They made their home in Fargo, ND. Lois was a homemaker and stenographer while raising her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Lockhart, Detroit Lakes; son, Kevin Lockhart, Wahpeton, ND; and one sister, Gloria (Bob) Bryan, Savannah, TN. and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Phyllis Thompson, Judy Baxter and Lorraine Bohnsack, and three brothers, Jerome, Larry and Ronald Hedin.
The family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff of the Twin Valley Nursing Home for giving Lois such personal genuine care. Thank you also to the nurses and doctors of Merit Care Hospital and Triumph Hospital. Lois was a frequent visitor. Thank you for always trying to improve the quality of her life.

Funeral: Friday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church (north Fargo campus), Fargo, ND
Interment: Zion Lutheran Cemetary, Twin Valley, MN.
