Lorraine Ione (Skoien) Van Erem passed away Feb 2, 2018 at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND at the age of 92. She was born January 25, 1926 in Hawley, MN to Otto and Emma (Christianson) Skoien. She was the youngest of 8 children. She moved with her family to Moorhead at the age of 13 and graduated from Moorhead High School. She met her husband Harold Van Erem while working at McHose Mattress Co. They married August 2, 1945. They lived in Fargo for all of their life. They had homes in Fargo, Tuscon, AZ and Turtle Lake near Hawley, MN. She worked for Woolworths in Fargo and was one of the first office employees at Kmart on South University Dr. in Fargo. She retired from Kmart in 1984. She was confirmed at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church and was an active member all her life. She enjoyed spending time with her church family. She made friends with everyone she met and had a special relationship with all the residents in her condo. She is survived by her children, Tim (Di), Tuscon, AZ. Jim, West Fargo. Special daughter-in-law Sandy Van Erem. Two grandchildren Michael (Laura), Tuscon, AZ, Dan (Wendy), Fargo. Three Great Grandchildren Michelle Van Erem, Mpls, MN and Gunnar Van Erem, Fargo, and Lucas Milligan, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, brothers, Roy, Edwin, and Casper. Sisters, Irene, Leona, Elvira, and Dolores. One Great Grandson Hunter James Van Erem. Visitation will take place at 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and a half hour prior to services on Wednesday. Memorial Service will take place at 1 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial will take place at a later date.
