Lowell Simenson

Lowell Sidney Simenson, 89, Fargo passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Eventide, Fargo.
Lowell was born on November 4, 1927 to Carl & Evelyn (White) Simenson. He grew up on a farm near Kindred and graduated from Kindred Public High School. He served in the Army and was stationed in Japan. On November 2, 1946 he married Beverly Lou Trom. They spent most of their life raising their
six children and farming near Kindred, ND.
In 2004 they moved to West Fargo. Lowell continued gardening on the farm for many more years. They moved to Cozy Country Living in Hawley, MN in 2014. In July, 2016 he moved to Fargo where he currently was residing.
They were members of Norman Lutheran in Kindred and Atonement Lutheran in Fargo.
Lowell, known to his family as "Gramps", loved hunting and fishing with his sons. He also enjoyed spending time at the lakes with his family, playing pinochle, golfing and watching his favorite sports teams.
He is survived by his children; Dennis (Carol) Simenson, Bismarck, ND, Mary (Rodney) Hinz, Clitherall, MN, Nanette (Mark) Langmo, Pelican Rapids , MN, Renee (Clay) Lambert, Fergus Falls, MN, Linda (Wayne) Lofgren, Hitterdal, MN, David (Becky) Simenson, Fargo, ND, 12 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Jerry Lechner and Betty Trom, Fargo, ND.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly and brother Robert.
Lowell's family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Red River Valley, Maple View and Eventide, Fargo.
Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M.
Burial: Kindred Cemetery, Kindred, ND.

Deepest sympathies to each of you with the passing of Lowell. He was a kind, gentle man who loved Beverly, all of you “Kids,” the grandkids and his whole family. His mom Evelyn was very proud of him and each of you.

So sorry I can’t make it to the service. A great friend and almost like I was part of the family for many years. God bless Lowell’s memory and God bless the family during this loss.

I will remember your dad with that devilish grin in the barn when he pretended to show Tom and me how to milk, and then squirt us from the cow’s utter. In recent years, he was always laughing during the visits with my parents and Auntie Bev. I will remember his big smile.

The staff at Maple View are going to miss Lowell so much. Some of us even visited him at Eventide after he left. He became a part of our family.
Thank you to his family for sharing Lowell with us. I am so thankful that I had the chance to meet him & I will never forget him. I am so sorry for your loss & your family will be in my prayers.
