Loyola "Peg" Buth

Loyola ?Peg? Buth, age 82, died Monday, September 25, 2006 at Elim Care Center, Fargo. Loyola ?Peg? Kowalski was born to Andrew and Lela (Griffin) Kowalski on July 11, 1924 in Moorhead, MN. After graduation from high school, she worked in the office of an airfield for testing airplanes in Washington. She also did some modeling in her early 20?s. She attended Business College for two years. Peg married Earl Buth on June 9, 1949 in Moorhead, MN. They moved to Oregon for a few years and then moved back to the Fargo/Moorhead area. She worked for the IRS and then as a representative for the Social Security Department. After retiring from there, she sold real estate in Detroit Lakes for a time. She and her husband spent their later years together living at Pelican Lake and wintering in Mesa, AZ. During her time at the lakes, Peg loved spending her days sitting on the dock fishing and reading. Earl died on June 10, 2003, and Peg entered Elim Nursing Home on June 9, 2004. She is survived by her children: Steven Buth, Rochert, MN, Caryl (Dennis) Hansen, West Fargo, ND, and Lolly (Barry) Johnson; grandsons: Jamie (Karla) Hansen and Todd (Canda) Hansen; four great grandchildren, Chaz, Mariya, Darian, and Jenna; her brother, Andrew Kowalski, Jr., Dilworth, MN; and two sisters, Jean and Donna. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Elim Nursing Home and Hospice of the Red River Valley for the loving- compassionate care shown to their mother.
