The Funeral Service for Lucille Foster will be held 11 AM Monday at the Grandin Presbyterian Church in Grandin, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Monday. Burial will be held in the Grandin Community Cemetery. Lucille died on Sunday, July 20, 2003, in Victorville, California, at the age of 92. Lucille was born on October 4, 1910, in Grandin, North Dakota, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Canning) Hunter. She grew up in this area and attended school. She was united in marriage to Francis Foster on December 31, 1928. They made their home in Grandin where they farmed and raised their family. Over the years Lucille also worked as a waitress, restaurant hostess and assistant in the U.S. Post Office in Grandin. Francis passed away in 1967. Lucille wintered in Mesa, Arizona, for a number of years and during the summer months spent time at Camp Joy Bible Camp where she worked as a cook for over 12 years. She moved to California in 1996 where she has lived since that time. Lucille was a member of the Grandin Presbyterian Church, Ladies Aid and active in community affairs most of her life. Lucille is survived by her children, Donald (Doris) Foster of Palmdale, California; Myrna Harrington of Fargo, North Dakota; Gene (Margaret) Foster of Grandin; Joan (Jim) Van Auken of Hesperia, California; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ethel Marian Isley; and her brother, Bob (Pat) Hunter. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; and her son-in-law, Richard Harrington.
