  Lyle Floyd Glessing, 89, Fargo, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Sanford Health in Fargo. Lyle Floyd Glessing was born on April 30, 1926 in Barronett, Wisconsin. He grew up there and lived there until he was fourteen when he moved to Minnesota. Lyle lived in Minnesota until coming to Fargo in 1945. Lyle F Glessing and Lucille Catherine Mohs were married in Wahpeton, ND in 1945. They made their home in Fargo. Lyle started working for Ole Rommesmo at Fargo Tank, now True North Steel, in 1945 and retired in 1990. Lyle was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo. He was state champion in trap shooting, inducted into the North Dakota Hall of Fame, past president of the state trap shooting association. He is survived by his, wife, Lucille; children, Eugene (Barbara) Glessing, Mohall, ND, Sharon (Alan) Olson, Westminster, CA, Gary (Pam) Glessing, Fargo, Bonnie (Sonny) Skar, Mapleton, ND, and Terry (Cindi), Glessing, Audubon, MN;   10 grandchildren, Paul Glessing and Katie Laskowski, Tim Olson and Denise Olson, Rob Glessing, Mike Glessing, Caleb Skar, Laura and Sara Glessing and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson Jacob Lyle Skar.

  3. So sorry Lucille and family to hear of lyle passing on! Have fond memories of you and Lyle from family reunions and such. My husband, Tom and I were in Fargo around the first week of June to see cousin Carol (Glessing) Rieke who was in Sanford hospital. Carol passed on July 8th! Wish I would have went and seen you and Lyle too!! love Charlene and family

  7. So sorry to hear of Lyles’ passing. He and my Dad were friends for many years and he always seem to come up in the conversation, especially when the talk was of hunting.

  8. My good memories enjoying trapshooting with Lyle are many. He was a great man and a good fried. He will be missed.
