Lynn Henry Ridder, age 65, of Casselton, ND, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 31, 2003, while surrounded by family and a close friend.
Lynn was born September 1, 1937, to Henry and Evelyn (Orth) Ridder in Britton, SD. Lynn grew up in Cogswell, ND, and attended grade school and high school in Brampton, ND, and Cogswell. He later attended Hanson Auto Body School. Lynn worked in the auto body business for more than 50 years. He worked in Oakes, Casselton and spent 30 plus years at W W Wallwork Ford in Fargo. He married Cora Gibson on September 2, 1961, in Oakes, ND. They lived in Fargo for a short time and spent the last 35 years in Casselton.
Lynn served for many years with the ND National Guard. He also loved auto restoration, NASCAR, Billiards and NASCAR Fantasy Racing. Lynn loved to visit with people and loved jokes and funny stories Lynn restored cars for William Wallwork and Bonanzaville, USA. Lynn played for a number of pool leagues in the Casselton area. Lynn was an avid hunter.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Cora; a daughter, Lisa of Fargo; a son, Michael (Kelly Gutknecht) of Reiles Acres; three grandchildren, Ashley, Tanya and Logan Ridder of Reiles Acres; and his mother, Evelyn (Bud) Strouse of Cogswell, ND.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Ridder; and his grandparents, Anna and Charles Orth, and Lena and Carl Ridder.
Lynn?s quick wit and sharp sense of humor was enjoyed by many. Lynn loved to help people with their car projects. He will be missed by all that knew him.
FUNERAL: 10:30 Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Casselton, ND
VISITATION: 5 – 7 PM Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 PM in Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, and one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday.
