Lynn Eldon Strege, 81, of Fargo, formerly of Lidgerwood, ND, passed away on May 2nd, 2020 at his home under the care of Hospice. Lynn was born on January 2, 1939 in Lidgerwood, ND to Harry and Esther (Kuehn) Strege. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church (rural) Lidgerwood, confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood, graduated from Lidgerwood Public School in 1957 and served two years in the Army. After an honorary discharge, he located to Hopkins, MN, worked for Red Owl Bakery and Fabri Tek Circuits. His job with Fabri Tek Circuits transferred him to Rapid City, SD and Baldwin, WI. In 1970, the family moved to Lidgerwood to take over the family farm after his father retired. They farmed for 30 years and retired in 2000. In 2005, they moved to Fargo and became members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He married Arla (Hendrickson) Strege on April 28, 1962. They celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary with family. To this union, daughters, Cheryl and Rene,’ were born. Lynn enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, fishing, hunting, golfing, and traveling, including an Alaskan cruise and trip to Maui with family for their 50th Anniversary. He also volunteered for the VA, Dakota Boys Ranch and his church. He is survived by wife, Arla Strege, daughter Cheryl (David) Lueker of Thompson, Rene’ Strege of Grand Forks, two grandsons, David Jr. of Peoria, AZ, Jonny (Heather) and five great grandchildren of Hatton, sister, Karen (Richard) Carrington of Apple Valley, MN, one aunt, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Esther Strege, brother and sister-in-law, Harris and Lois Strege, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family service was held Monday, May 4, 2020 at Boulger Funeral Home. A recording of the service will be posted to Boulger Funeral Home’s website. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lidgerwood. Memorials are preferred to RRV Hospice, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the VA Hospital for their wonderful care and to the RRV Hospice for their comforting care.

  2. I have so many memories of Lynn that I don’t even know where to begin…he was like a second father to me. Brought a puppy to our house in the dead of winter when I was just a little girl and we had Buster for many years…going to each other’s homes for our birthdays to play Schmere…the list goes on and on…I send my heartfelt prayers and love to Arla, Cheryl and Rene.

  4. Arla, so sorry to hear of Lynn’s death. One of the truly great blessings Linda and I have ever received is getting to know you guys through attending Beautiful Savior. It ain’t gonna be the same without Lynn telling me, “Boy, you really look sharp today!” and me telling him he needs to get his eyes checked. GOD be with you and yours in this, your time of sorrow.

  5. Lynn was our farm neighbor when I was growing up. We could look to the east 1 mile and see his farm. What a beautiul well kept farm it was. Lynn was funny and always had a “Helloooo” for everyone. He was my Dad’s best friend. Lynn got along with everyone and always gave hugs…..Arla, Cheryl and Rene you have beautiful memories to cherish of him.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. He was a very nice and kind man. I remember going with my father as a young boy to crop spray your fathers fields. He was always thoughtful and kind to me. In later years it was always fun to see Lynn at the YMCA. Please take care of yourself’s and may God wrap is arms around your family during this time of grieving.

  8. Lynn was precious! We loved him and you, Arla while Dave served as pastor at Beautiful Savior. Lynn always had a smile on his face and something goofy to share with us. We know that last years have been difficult for your entire family – but Lynn loved Jesus! And, to know he is safely “home” must bring you comfort.

    We have many wonderful memories of Lynn and we know that he will be part of the friendly greeting committee when we reach heaven.

  9. One of nicest person you would ever want to meet him & arla would walk down by my place at El mirage mobile park in Mesa az with some of the funniest comments he ever made I always will remember Lynn

    He always had a smile on his face, and by the time he left the elevator we all had a smile on our faces.
    He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. My thought and prayers are with you and family.

  15. Lynn is my Godfather and he made a difference in my life. He taught me humility and to smile. He never once forgot my birthday, when I was growing up. No matter how far apart we lived. I never saw him that he didn’t give me the best bear hug, tell me I was looking sharp, and tell me a joke- to make me smile. Thank you for being special and making me feel special

  23. Arla and family so sorry for your loss, Lynn was a great to visit and to business with. My memories were when him and l got together to talk about fertilizer and the business of farming. Since I retired I spend my winters south of Dodge City, KS Lynn will surely be missed and my deepest sympathies to your family
