She was born August 16, 1924 to Margaret (McGregor) and Paul Dobrinz. She grew up on the family farm west of Fargo and was graduated from West Fargo High School. She married Gordon A. Jones in June 1941 and they lived in West Fargo. Gordon was drafted into the army in WW II and she and their young daughter Kathie (Kathleen) joined him in Oklahoma and Texas while he was in Officers Training School. Aileen and Kathie moved back to her parent’s farm when Gordon was shipped to Europe. The family moved to Moorhead when Gordon returned to the States in 1946.

Aileen was active in the community – belonging to the American Legion Auxiliary, the Jaycettes, the Altrusia Club, and the Sewchataneat Sewing Club. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Moorhead and served on various boards and committees including Trustees and Deaconess.

  1. Jerry and Pearl Leadbetter says:

    Kathy and family,
Our sympathies to all of you on the passing of Aileen. We remember fondly the many beach picnics, card games, and joint work projects on Fish Lake. Gordon and Aileen always were a third set of grandparents to our children. We have picked up their habit of wintering in Arizona so will be unable to attend the memorial service, but out thoughts and prayers are with you.

  2. Sandy Johnson (Berger) says:

Mrs. Jones, as she was known to us kids, was a favorite Mom. She put up with a lot from us when we were at her house. I am so glad you had her all these years. God bless the whole family as you deal with a vacant spot in your world.

  3. Diane Thies says:

Aileen was my first supervisor at NWB. She was a wonderful caring person. After retirement I visited she and Gordon every summer at Fish 🐠 Lake and admired their huge garden across the road. We also visited them in Az in Sun City. I considered her a friend.

  4. Jean Y Jacobsen says:

I worked in the payroll dept. of NW Bell between 1950-1954 and remember her well working in the plant department. She was a wonderful lady my sympathy to all her family.
