Margaret Murline Andre, 78, died at Villa Maria nursing home in Fargo on Tuesday, November 18, 2003. Margaret was born to Nell and Willie B. Jones on September 20, 1925, in Metter, GA. She grew up in Metter, and graduated from high school there in 1942. Margaret went on to manage the movie theater in Metter, and she also gave tap dancing lessons. It was during a spring vacation with friends that she met a Marine Corps pilot, Aaron Andre, a flight instructor from Pensacola, FL. They married May 13, 1945. After Mr. Andre received his discharge, the couple moved to Chicago, IL, for a short time. Most of their married years were spent on their farm south of Mapleton, ND, until they divorced in 1982. Margaret was employed various times by retail stores in Fargo and West Fargo. These stores included West Fargo Drug, Royal Jewelers and K-Mart. She also was a volunteer for the Cass County and North Dakota Democratic party. She joined efforts to get democratic candidates elected to local and statewide offices. One such effort was ?Busy Bees for Burdick?. Margaret loved visiting with people, in particular her co-workers. Blessed with many creative talents, she enjoyed and appreciated many styles of music. She had the ability to play piano and organ by ear. Survivors include her son, Byron Andre and wife Traci, Bismarck, ND; her daughter, Marcella Andre and husband Tom Gallagher, Casper, WY; her five grandchildren, Tasha Carvell (Tasha?s Dad, Kevin Carvell), Tanya, Justin, Jenna, and Lauren Andre; and one great granddaughter, Mataia. Margaret M. Andre was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Jones. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place in Metter, GA, at a later date.
