Margaret H. Brogren, age 85 of Moorhead, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead.
Margaret H. Bromander was born on November 11, 1920 to John Hugo and Clara Mathilda (Solid) Bromander in Becker County, MN. She graduated from high school in Ulen, MN. On October 17, 1942, she married Virgil Brogren in Flom, MN. They farmed in the Waubun, MN area until moving to Fargo in 1960. They purchased Hot Coffee Catering Service, which they operated until their retirement in 1999. She moved to Catered Living in Eventide in 2001 and into Eventide Nursing Home in March 2006.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo, past president and remained active with Children?s Harbor School, and also active in Eventide?s Chapel and Bible Study Group in Moorhead. She enjoyed crafts, bingo, playing cards, and baking cookies and brownies.
Margaret will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring, humble and giving woman. She loved being with her family. She was an excellent cook and baker which were proven throughout her 39 years of catering. She loved drop in company and to share her coffee and homemade treats.
Margaret cut stamps, and saved cards and cloth yardage to give to charitable causes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and two brothers, Gayle and Kenneth.
Margaret is survived by her children, Marlene (John) Burkel of Vadnais Heights, MN, Marlys (Darwin) Burda-Leach of Dilworth, MN, Darrell (Sue) Brogren of New Effington, SD, Corinne Brogren of Denver, CO, Dean Brogren of Fargo, Curtis (Kris) Brogren of New Castle, PA, Randy (Linda) Brogren of Fargo; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; special family friend, Dennis Olson of Fargo; and brother, Robert (Thelma) Bromander of Ulen, MN.
Visitation: Thursday, June 22 from 5-7 pm in Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Fargo, and also one hour prior to the service
in the church on Friday.
Prayer Service: Thursday, June 22 at 6:30 pm in Bethlehem Lutheran
Funeral Service: Friday, June 23 at 1:00 pm in Bethlehem Lutheran
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
