Margaret E. Hogan, 98, of Fargo, North Dakota, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Elim Care and Rehab center, Fargo. On May 24, 1911, Margaret E. Hogan was born to Joseph and Pauline Hogan in Hofa Park, Wisconsin. The family moved to North Dakota when she was one and a half years old; her childhood was lived in Denbigh, Bantry, and McHenry. Her upper grades and high school years were in Carrington, North Dakota, from where she graduated in 1930. The same fall, she entered St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing, Fargo, and in 1933, she became a Registered Nurse. Her strong compassion for others cemented her life’s work of 47 years as a professional nurse. Her training from the dedicated St. Joseph Sisters was thorough. Margaret’s first assignment was to the Carrington, ND hospital; then to City Hospital, New Rockford, ND; several years later, she nursed in Jamestown Hospital; in 1949, she began her years of employment with the Fargo Veterans Hospital. Her final work was at Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead, MN., before retiring in 1977. Margaret is survived by one sister, Eva Hogan, Fargo, and eight nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pauline Hogan; three brothers, William; John J.; and Rev. James P. Hogan; and 4 sisters, Loretta Stern, Florence Hogan, Susanne Bresnahan, and Sr. Mary Kathleen Hogan There will be visitation on Monday, October 5, 2009 in Boulger Funeral Home, from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm in the funeral home. The funeral will be on Tuesday, October 6 in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo at 11:00. Interment: 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Carrington Cemetery, Carrington ND
