Margaret M. Poindexter

Margaret M. Poindexter, 85, Fargo, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Margaret Mary Coughlin was born October 17, 1919 in Crossingville, PA. She grew up in western Pennsylvania, and graduated from West Millcreek High School. She received her R.N. from St. Vincent?s Hospital, Erie, PA, and taught there for a short period. While working at Detroit Children?s Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, she met her husband, Dr. Marlin H. Poindexter. They married on October 19, 1946, in Detroit. In January 1947, they moved to Fargo. Margaret was active in the St. Luke?s Hospital Auxiliary, North Dakota Medical Auxiliary, and PEO. She was a charter member of Nativity parish and past president of Nativity Guild. Her husband, her brother Harold (Doris) Coughlin, her cousin Monsignor James Sperry, her children, Tom Poindexter (Virginia Cayton), Betty Poindexter, Ginny Poindexter, and Nancy Poindexter (Chester Brooke) survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her infant daughter, Mary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Riverview Chapel and Grounds Fund, 5200 12th Street South, Fargo, ND 58104. Visitation: Monday, April 11, 2005, 12:30 PM at Riverview Chapel.
