Margaret "Meg" Sundeen

Margaret “Meg” Opel Sundeen, 44, Hillsboro, ND passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sanford Hillsboro Medical Center.  She was born June 25, 1969 to Vita (Patnaude) and Mike Nicolia in Minot, ND and grew up in Lancaster, OH.  Meg and her family have lived in the Hillsboro area for the past 10 years.

Meg worked at Stop-N-Go in Hillsboro and was employed at American Crystal Sugar for eight years.  She will be missed by all her friends at Crystal. 

Meg had a lot of hobbies.  She loved singing karaoke, especially “These Boots are Made For Walkin’.”  She also enjoyed reading, particularly books by Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and James Patterson.  Quilting, sewing, and embroidery were some of her other passions.

Meg’s children were her life, but she also watched out for other’s children.  She will be remembered for her big heart and willingness to stand up for everybody.  Those blessed to know her will miss her great sense of humor and the smile that was always on her face.

She is survived by her children, Troy Poitra, Nicole Poitra, Ryan Poitra, and Mathew Poitra; her parents; her special friend, Dick Woods; four grandchildren, Alex, Jackson, Jasmine, and Willow; ten siblings; her beloved dogs, Stella and Tinkerbell; and many other relatives and friends.

Meg’s family would like to extend a special thank you to area businesses for their support during her illness this past year.
