Marguerite Fenstad

Marguerite Mary Rutherford Fenstad, 86, 2621 Atlantic Drive, Fargo, died November 1, 2004. The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Church of the Nativity, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday in the church from 6:00 p.m. ? 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. James Cemetery in Page, ND. Marguerite Rutherford was born in Page, North Dakota, on May 16, 1918 and graduated from Page High School in 1936. She graduated from Mercy Hospital, Valley City, as a Registered Nurse in 1940. She married Morton Fenstad on July 11, 1942 at Tacoma, Washington where Morton was in the military service assigned to the 957th Field Artillery Battalion. Mort died July 14, 1994. Marg and Mort lived in Fargo after his discharge in 1945 until the fall of 1946 when they moved to Page, ND. The family moved to Fingal in 1961 and lived there until 1982, when Mort retired and they moved back to Fargo. Marg worked as a Registered Nurse during her life. She worked in Fargo, Minneapolis, Tacoma, Page, Fingal and for the Barnes County Seniors. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters in Fargo, the Royal Neighbors of America and had been in the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She is survived by her son, Terry (Carolyn), Amherst, Massachusetts; son, Roger (Jan), Fargo and daughter Loree (Keith) Stenehjem, Grand Forks, ND; 8 grandchildren, Jonathan and Gregory Fenstad, Nicole, Eric (Brooke), Mark and Michael Fenstad, and Melissa (Jonathan) Buchhop and Matthew Stenehjem. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice (Campbell) Rutherford, 1954, and Alexander Rutherford, 1966, and her brother Harold Rutherford, 1994. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Daughters of America or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
