Marian Kuchera, 93, formerly of Wyndmere, ND, died July 8, 2010 at Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND. 

Marian was born on a farm by Lidgerwood, ND on August 27, 1916 to Joseph and Anna Fuka.  She attended Valley City State Teacher's College earning an elementary degree in 1936. She taught in LaMoure and Cogswell before marrying Joseph Kuchera on September 23, 1945.  Marian and Joe were partners in their various endeavors-farming, and later owning and operating Joe's Bar and Kuch's Hardware.  In the late 50's, Marian returned to teaching until her retirement in 1971.  She was a taskmaster who expected and usually got the best from her students. 

Marian loved her flowers and gardening and spent many hours toiling in her yard, where a weed did not dare grow.  Her other interest included reading, crossword/jigsaw puzzles, and travel.  They enjoyed vacations to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, and other states.  Marian was active for many years at St. John's Catholic Church.  Towards retirement, they purchased a lake home on Lake Sallie, Detroit Lakes where they spent many hours fishing, playing cards, and creating a haven for all the family to enjoy.

 Marian is survived by her daughters:  Jane (Scott)Kempf Mound, MN; Renee (Doug) Christians, Fargo, ND; grandchildren:  Anne (Colin) Miller; Daniel (Karrin) Christians, Lindsay Anderson, Joe Anderson, all of Fargo area; great-grandchildren:  Taylor and Samantha Christians, Lucas and Elizabeth Miller; brothers: Joe (Lorraine) Fuka, Lidgerwood, ND, Al (Mag) Fuka, Coeur de Alene, ID; sisters-in-law: Marie Klosterman, Elsie Muske, Chris Fuka, and many nieces and nephews.  Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna Fuka; husband, Joe; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Willis Anderson; brother, Jim Fuka.
