Marie Johnson

Marie Johnson, age 93, West Fargo, formerly of Leonard, ND, passed away April 5, 2006 at Palliative Care, MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Marie Gulland was born near McLeod, ND on October 31, 1912 to Henry and Anna Gulland. She attended Sheyenne Central School, rural McLeod. She married Clifford Johnson on November 20, 1929 at Wahpeton, ND. Marie served as president of the Helendale Ladies? Aid for many years and was a member of the Helendale Lutheran Church for 76 years. She was a tower of strength to her family with many words of wisdom. Marie is survived by her sons: Leon (Virginia) Johnson, Fargo, ND, Jerroll (Vivian) Johnson, Enderlin, ND, Lyle (Betty) Johnson, Kindred, ND, Rollin (Jeanne) Johnson, Leonard, ND; a daughter: Carol (Harlan) Johnson, Charlotte, NC; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, a son Allen, a granddaughter Pamela, a grandson Mike, and 10 sisters and brothers. The funeral will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Helendale Lutheran Church, rural Leonard, ND at 2:00 pm. There will be visitation at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Helendale Cemetery.
