Marilyn Wichmann, age 79, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Lynchburg, ND, died on Monday, February 18, 2008 at home. Marilyn was born to Milford and Nora (Luidahl) Mickelson on September 28, 1928 near Davenport, ND. She graduated from high school there and attended NDSAC (NDSU) and Moorhead State University for a two year teaching degree. Her first teaching position was in Galesburg, ND. She married Kenneth Wichmann on August 27, 1949 at Christianna Lutheran Church, rural Kindred, ND. They farmed south of Casselton in Maple River Township for 40 years. She held positions as a receptionist at Nodak Supply and as a caregiver with Fargo Community Health Department and Hospice of the Red River Valley. They moved to Otttertail, MN 1990. She worked as a nurse?s aid at Ottertail Nursing Home and Good Samaritan Center, Battle Lake, MN. Kenneth died on April 10, 1997. Marilyn moved to Detroit Lakes, MN in 1999. She was a member of Northwoods Assembly Church, High Mileage Group in Detroit Lakes, the Senior Citizen Center, and a very active volunteer and Sunday School teacher at Bethel Moravian Church. She enjoyed spending time at the lake. She is survived by Michael K. Wichmann, Dent, MN, Steven Wichmann (Tanis) Ottertail, MN, Thomas Wichmann, Durbin, ND; grandchildren: Paul Wichmann (Danette) Minneapolis, MN, Marie Wichmann (Terry McCann) Minneapolis, MN, Thomas Lerner, Ottertail, MN, David Wichmann (Marsha) Moorhead, MN, Joey Wichmann, Ottertail, MN, Brenda Wichmann, Casselton, ND; three great grandchildren: David, Gabriel, Michaela Wichmann; siblings: Margaret Drake Moegle, Grand Rapids, MN, Allen Mickelson, West Fargo, ND, Betty Norheim (Harold) Waconia, MN. Preceded by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild: Michael P. Wichmann. Visitation: 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Homecoming: 10:30 am on Friday, February 22, 2008 at Northwoods Assembly of God, 945 West Main Avenue, Perham, MN. Burial: Bethel Moravian Church, rural Leonard, ND. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.
