Marion Schumacher, age 80, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Villa Maria Care Center, Fargo, ND. Marion was born September 21, 1935 in Two Harbors, MN to Richard and Evelyn (Rehn) Hausten. She graduated from high school in Ada, MN. She moved to Moorhead, MN and worked for NorthWest Bell. On December 26, 1954 she was united in marriage to Reinhold “Ray” Schumacher. She made her home in Fergus Falls, MN where she raised 6 children. After the children left home, Marion and Ray moved to Fargo. One of her favorite things to do was knitting and crocheting many special items for her children and grandchildren. She and Ray enjoyed traveling to many different locations. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to visit with people and made friends everywhere she went. Marion faced many challenges but never lost her faith and positive outlook on life. She was a strong woman and taught all those around her to be better people. She is survived by her children: Debbie (David) Tarbell; Ginger Anderson; Wanda (Rich) Lauinger; Laurel (Joe) Kelly; Terri (Dan) Elstad; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers: Donald (Sandy) Hausten; Rick Hausten; sister, Cindy (Rick) Drevlow; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray; son, David; granddaughter, Angel; sister-in-law, Rosie Hausten. A special thank you to the staff of Villa Maria for their love and care.
