Marion Tollefsrud

Marion A. Hanson Tollefsrud passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. Marion A. Hanson Tollefsrud was born to Arthur and Myrtle (Finell) Hanson on December 15, 1924 in Primrose Township, Portland, ND. She was baptized and confirmed in the Perry Lutheran Church. Marion attended a one room country school and graduated from Portland High School. She graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1946 and practiced her profession for more than 50 years. She was employed at Union Hospital, Mayville, for over 40 years. Marion Hanson married Alvin Tollefsrud in 1948 and resided in Mayville for 57 years until moving to Fargo. Marion was an active member of Mayville Lutheran Church, WELCA, Circle, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for Hospice as a visiting nurse and a 50 + year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, was active in Cub Scouts, 4-H, Camp Fire, Cancer Education and Homemakers. She is survived by her husband, Alvin, Fargo; her children, Mary (David) Craveiro, Warren, RI, Neil (Deb) Tollefsrud, Shakopee, MN, and Jane (Dana) Hunt Owatonna, MN; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and one hour before the funeral in the church. In lieu of flowers take a walk in the woods, play with a child, go to church, pray. Marion would like to thank her husband, her family and her friends for a wonderful life.
