Obituary

Mark Daniel Steege, 37, passed away into the arms of the Lord on December 22, 2016 in Fargo ND. Mark was born September 23, 1979 in Denison, IA to Paul and Martha Steege. Mark and his family moved to Omaha, NE in 1980.  He welcomed his brother, John, in 1983. He attended and graduated from Omaha Northwest High School where he played in the Marching Band, was a member of the National Honor Society, and liked to play golf with his Dad. He attended UND from 1997-2001 for Airport Management. He obtained his pilot’s license and liked to fly Cessna Single Engine Airplanes. He moved to Fargo in 2002 where he started a banking career at U.S. Bank.

Mark met his wife Jennifer on January 16, 2004 and was engaged in Omaha, NE at Heartland Park, June 24, 2006. Mark and Jennifer were married by Mark’s Grandfather Pastor William Hoffman on July 29, 2006. Mark and Jennifer were blessed with 2 daughters, Annalise (2006) and Layla (2011) during their marriage. Both of the girls were very loved and adored by their daddy and he would never hesitate to do anything for them. Mark attended and received a bachelor’s degree in business management from University of Mary in 2007. Mark accepted a job at Globe University as Financial Aid Administrator and was later promoted to Financial Aid Director. Mark left Globe to take an underwriting position at U.S. Bank in 2013, and was later promoted to Credit Underwriting Trainer. Mark loved spending time with his girls, working on technology, playing pool, driving boats at the lake, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers, especially when they would play the Vikings and tease Jennifer about her team losing.

Mark is survived by his wife Jennifer (Trauman) Steege (Fargo, ND), daughters Annalise (10 years) and Layla (5 years). Parents, Paul and Martha Steege, (Omaha, NE). Brother, John Steege and wife Aisha along with their children, Isaac (2 years), Sarina (6 months), Grandmother, Georgia  Steege, Fulton, Il.  Along with many loving family and friends.

Preceded in death by Pastor William and Alberdena Hoffman and Milton “Papa Milk” Steege, and 2 babies that were lost to miscarriage.

Our families would like to thank you for all the out pouring of love, prayers, and kind words at this difficult time. We asked for your continued prayers as we grieve the loss of Mark. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

I worked with Mark many long hours when we were at Globe and he always proudly displayed the artwork done by his beautiful girls, they were his pride and joy… he would only share his private side when speaking of his girls and then he would light up. No matter where he is, his attention will never be far from them… Rest M, You are at peace.
