Marlene Schlenker, 76, Fargo, ND passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Sanford Health in Fargo. She was born on January 28, 1943 to Casper and Catherine (Holzer) Kraft in South Dakota. She grew up in South Dakota and graduated McLaughlin High School.
On July 2, 1960 Marlene was united in marriage to Jerald Schlenker at St. Bernard’s Church in McLaughlin, SD. In 1965 the couple moved to Fargo where they made their home and raised their two children.
Marlene immensely enjoyed her NFL football pool. She loved traveling, fishing and hunting with her best friends, Jim and Jean Wold.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Paine, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Mike (Kristin) Schlenker, Thompson ND, Deric Paine, Minneapolis MN; Devon Paine, Minneapolis MN; Matt Timme Dilworth, MN; great-grandchildren, Camdyn Schlenker, Lelah Paine, Addley Schlenker; sister, Lucille (Jerome) Schatz, Sioux Falls, SD; brothers, Ed (Brenda) Kraft, Mandan ND, Terry (Brenda) Kraft, Mobridge, SD; Claude (Cindy) Kraft, Aberdeen, SD; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Schlenker; parents, Casper and Catherine Kraft; son, Brian Schlenker; brother, Casmer (Yvonne) Kraft.
Service on Wednesday Dec 18th 10:00 a.m. at Boulger Funeral in Fargo, Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m.
Marlene will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery next to Jerry and Brian.
Memorials preferred to JP2 Catholic Schools.
