Martha Raastad

Martha Raastad, age 91 of Hickson, ND died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at her home. Martha was born on October 16, 1915 on a farm near Gardner, ND to William and Helen (Neisman) Burmeister. She married Marion Raastad on March 9, 1944. She was a farm wife who supplemented their income by cleaning houses, mowing rural cemeteries and serving as a janitor for Hickson Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Martha is survived by her husband of 62 years, Marion of Hickson; children, Rosemary Raastad of Hickson, Donna (S. Kent) Hauge of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Soren Kristofer Hauge of Bismarck, Dr. Marny Hauge of Bismarck, Lisa (Jason) Engbrecht of Faribault, MN; great-granddaughter, Abby Engbrecht of Faribault, MN and her sister, Edythe Zimmerman of Spokane, WA. Visitation: Friday, November 3 from 5-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and one hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday. Prayer Service: Friday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Funeral Service: Saturday, November 4 at 2:00 pm at Hickson Lutheran Church, Hickson, ND. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
