Melvin Leslie Fredenburg, 72, died Tuesday July, 18, 2017 at his home.
Melvin was born December 6, 1944 in Wheaton, MN to Howard and Lucille (Neiderbaumer) Fredenburg. He graduated from Edgeley High School. Melvin was united in marriage to Rosie in 1989. He served in the National Guard. Melvin retired from NSP in 2005. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Fargo, El Zagel Shriners, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Gophers fan.
He is survived by his wife of Rosie, daughter, Faye Fredenburg, Largo, FL; step-sons, Joe (Kim) McPherson, St Cloud, MN; Jon (Rita) McPherson, Merriam, KS; Jim (Donna) McPherson, Fargo, ND; Jeff (Phyllis) McPherson, Broomfield, CO; Jerrod (Lisa) McPherson, Fargo, ND; brother, Milton Fredenburg, sister, Marie Fredenburg, nephew, Graham Fredenburg, grandson, Neil Hasenstaub, and several step grandchildren and great children.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and son, Neil.
Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with visitation starting at 6:00 P.M.
Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo.

Sorry to hear of Mel’s passing. I enjoyed the time I spent with him working shrine circuses, attending parades, etc. He will be missed. My condolences to the family.
I offer my sincere condolences to your family during this difficult time. Continue to lean upon family and friends for support. God gives us comfort and hope at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 and Revelation 21:4 when we mourn during occasions like these. May you find the peace and strength needed to endure the days ahead.
I am sorry for your loss and am praying for peace and healing in your hearts. Mel was such a kind man with a wonderful smile.

To Mel’s daughter and the McPherson boys.you have my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Mel He and Rosie were such good friends and neighbors. After Rosie went to assisted living we would have some good talks as I walked the neighborhood. or he was driving past in his truck. He .would always call me “Mrs. Fritz”. Will miss the yearly dinner at the Long Horn with them, Carol & Dave Trottier. God’s blessings to the family and rest in peace, Mel.
As we go through life we meet many people some are very memorable others not so much.
I had the honor to have met one of those memorable people that I will always remember. Mel made people laugh, was very kind person and was always up for a good prank. The world has lost a fine person and I hope he will be remembered for all the good he did for us.

My most heartfelt condolences to Melvins family and friends. It is always indescribably sad to look a loved one and sometimes we could feel very empty and alone. Psalms 34:18 says “Jehovah is close to the broken hearted, he saves those who are crushed in spirit” how comforting it is to know this I will include you in my prayers.
I worked with Mel at the NDANG and he was a professional hard working patriot that all truly called friend! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family in this time of sorrow. Mel will be dearly missed.
Melvin and I graduated from Edgeley HS together. Melvin always had a laugh that was catchy and his sense of humor was refreshing! He could out visit everyone! It was a joy to have him as a snow bird in Arizona for a couple of years. We had a chance to catch up each year he came! I will miss Melvin.
Milton and Marie, my thoughts and prayers will be with you and the family during this sad time.
Sorry to here about Melvin, he was a childhood friend. I spent many an hour watching TV at his house, cuz we didn’t have one. His mother and my mother worked together at Edgeley Coffee Shop in the haydays. Such a happy, friendly disposition. I’m sure he will be missed. EHS Class of 63 James Rieb

Faye, My mom and I remember you as next door neighbors a long time ago in Chrisian Estates. We are still living in Chrisian and its changed a lot. The house you were living in is no longer there but we remember it like it was yesterday and have great memories of Mel. I will always remember his laugh and his good nature. Melvin was a few years ahead of me in high school but I always remember him with a big smile on his face & he seemed to light up any place he was. Thoughts & hugs to your family.
We were fortunate to have known Mel through marriage. Always a pleasure seeing him and Rosie at the family gatherings. Good memories at Paradiso especially.
