Mike Brandner, 76, died peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2008, with his family present. Myron Don Brandner was born September 23, 1931 on the family farm near Zeeland, ND to Henry and Mary Brandner. Mike attended school in Zeeland graduating from Zeeland High School in 1950. He excelled in football, basketball and enjoyed playing baseball where his father was the team manager. Mike served in the US Army from 1952-1954, in Okinawa, Japan, where he was a communications expert. Upon Mike?s discharge he returned to Zeeland and worked with his dad at Henry?s Bar, the family?s business. Mike moved to Fargo in 1958. On September 5, 1959, Mike married Rae L. Sanders at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin, MN. Mike then started his own business, Rae-Bon Sewing Center in Fargo. He successfully owned and operated the store until it was sold in 1995. Throughout his life Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his brother Calvin spent many hours hunting and fishing near Beaver Creek and on Gramma?s farm. In 1977 Mike joined the Masonic Lodge and El Zagel Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mike is survived by Rae; two daughters, Kari (Jim) Butler, and Niki (Zach) Aoga; four grandchildren, Chantal, Noelle, Brandi and Thomas; one great granddaughter, Jessiah Noelle and many beloved extended family members and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers:Walter and Calvin; and two sisters, Ruby Peters and Bernetta Rutschke. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Boulger Funeral Home.
