She resided there until 1907, when the family moved first to Phoebus, VA and then to a farm near Poolesville, MD, about 25 miles from Washington, DC. Later her mother became ill, so the family moved first to San Antonio, TX, and then to El Reno, OK searching for a better climate for her mother?s health. She died Feb.1, 1911 from tuberculosis. A few months later the family moved to Norfolk, VA, and stayed there until 1915, when they moved back to Steele, ND.

The next year she returned to Tuttle and taught in a country school for a year.
On Dec. 5, 1922 she married Roy Buck. They farmed and ranched northwest of Tuttle for over 40 years. Her life was filled with the activities of a farmer and rancher?s wife of that time. She was active in the Church of the Nazarene in Tuttle. They had two children: Helen (Vernon)Youngs, and Gerald (Shirley). Gerald died in 1999. Because of Roy?s poor health they moved to Tuttle in 1963. He died Dec. 31, 1966. Following Roy?s death she remained in Tuttle. In 1970 she moved to Madison, WI to be near her daughter.
