Mildred J. Ohnstad, 85, Argusville, ND passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Elim Care and Rehab Center, Fargo with her family by her side.

Mildred was born March 12, 1929 in Collegeville, MN to John and Bertha (Zimmerman) Reisinger. She grew up the middle child of 7 on the family farm in the Upsala, MN area in a typical German Family. She married Harvey Ohnstad June 11, 1949 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Argusville, ND for all of their lives. Harvey passed away on November 6, 2008.

Mildred worked various jobs while raising her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing her own clothes which she continued to do at a professional level, embroidering, crocheting, canning, ironing, dancing, traveling, fishing, cooking, playing cards and always had a special place for beautiful butterflies. She loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed seeing her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dan (Malee) Ohnstad, St. Louis Park, MN, Vernon (Becky) Ohnstad, Fargo, ND, Pam (Everett) Anderson, Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Janna) Noyes, Patty (Troy) Macziewski, Aimee (Paul) Heider, Tracy (Chris) Roach, C.J. Ohnstad, Heather (Travis) Warner, Lalita Tesun, Chatpakorn Tesun; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette (George) Green, Mary-Jane (Jerry) Stich and Kathy Janzen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey, son, Arnold, brothers, Edwin “Eddie”, Del and Leon.

    I remember standing in the middle of the street between our homes in the dark looking up to the sky looking for sputnick’s. Millie & my mother were with me & we alway’s saw them. That is just one of the memories I have of your mother. My condolences to Dan, Vernie, & Pam.
