Mildred P. Oleson, age 93, of Page, ND went to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Mildred was born January 16, 1923 to Fredrick and Margaret (Rast) Schmidt at Forsyth, MT. Mildred’s father was a Lutheran Minister so the family lived in several locations in Montana and North Dakota. Mildred went to school in Luverne, ND. When she completed school, she worked in the Luverne and Valley City area. On December 23, 1944 she married Clifford C. Poehls from Page, ND at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They farmed in the Page area for many years before moving into Page from the farm. Clifford died in August of 1972. Clifford and Mildred had 4 children. Sheryal (Arlo) Mittleider, Page; Dalene (Jack) Van Eaton, Edgemont, SD; Rita (Gary) Molldrem, Moorhead; and Marle (Lisa) Poehls, Fargo. On October 15, 1977 Mildred married Chester Oleson at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page where Mildred was a member. Chester died in January of 2006. Mildred continued to live in Page until she moved into Elim Care Center in Fargo. Mildred loved to sing and was an artist with her embroidery hobby. She was an excellent cook and baker. She created a loving home for her family that was filled with joy, closeness, and fun. Mildred had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved her immediate and extended family. Mildred leaves her 4 children and their spouses that she loved just as much as her children; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren; and 19 nieces and nephews; brother: Ted (Bernice) Schmidt, West Fargo, ND; and a sister, Benora Cruff, Valley City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Clifford Poehls and Chester Oleson, sister, Elenora Coghlan; brothers, Erwin Schmidt and Jerry Schmidt; great-grandson, Logan Van Eaton and two nephews, Joe and Kenny Coghlan Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Boulger Funeral Home with a visitation 1 hour prior to services. Interment in Page, ND following services.
